Memberships & Permits
For reasons of safety, and sound land management practices, the club is charged with monitoring all vehicle activity
in the area, therefore all drivers must be a member of the Portland Dune Buggy Club or hold a valid 4 day permit.
Members of 4WD clubs can arrange for a 4 day permit inclusive of camping fees at Swan Lake where there is a large
grassed area tucked into the back of the dunes, protected from the wind.
Annual membership expires on the 30th of June of each year.
SINGLE MEMBERSHIP
This option entitles the successful applicant access to the Designated Dune Buggy Area and the PDBC camping area within the Discovery Bay Coastal Park for that financial year. Each person wishing to drive must be a member and they each typically own a buggy. There are no fees due to Parks Victoria for financial members camping within the Dune Buggy camping area at Swan Lake for the period of membership. The cost for this option is $90.00 per driver. Please contact the Membership Officer for further information about becoming a member.
4 DAY PERMIT
Please ensure that you email the PDBC to enquire about a booking at least 4 weeks in advance for any 4 Day Permit. This option entitles the successful applicant access to the Designated Dune Buggy Area within the Discovery Bay Coastal Park for four consecutive days. (Each person wishing to drive must apply for a permit). Please note that no 4 day permits are available through December or January. Nor are they available on any long weekend (Grand Final, Melbourne Cup, Labour Day, Easter, ANZAC) apart from the King’s birthday. The cost for this option is $80.00 per driver. Please contact the Secretary for further information about obtaining a 4 Day Permit.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

Family membership includes the applicant, spouse and children 21 years and under as at 1st July of membership year. A family will typically own at least one buggy.
